Introduction

Ungok Ramsar Wetland is formed by various water streams converging into the Ungok Wetland, and the surrounding area's water system flows from Gochangcheon to Incheon River, entering the northern Gomso Bay. Within Ungok Ramsar Wetland, there are various large and small wetlands, such as Andeokje and Ungokje, which serve as excellent habitats for wetland ecological resources flowing into the surrounding ecological ponds.

The distribution of plants in Ungok Ramsar Wetland is as follows. In the vicinity of Ungok Reservoir, many plants from the Asteraceae, Poaceae, Cyperaceae, Polygonaceae, Scrophulariaceae, Rosaceae, and Fabaceae families are distributed. Obeygol is mainly populated by bird cherry and Acer tegmentosum, and in Ungok Village, aquatic plants are concentrated in areas adjacent to the reservoir. Areas adjacent to the Andeokjegol in Angukje-gol are populated by leafy plants such as water lilies, while various wetland plants are distributed within the valleys.

As for animals, endangered species such as otters and Eurasian curlews, as well as fauna such as mallards, and Red-bellied and Oriental Honey Buzzards, are known to inhabit the area. In addition, there are 533 fish species, 12 amphibian and reptile species, 611 bird species, 11 mammal species, 297 insect species, and 22 butterfly species in the area.
